| Hello and welcome to Cheltenham North RFC in the
21st century and its official website. Hopefully these pages will give you
a small insite into one of the oldest and most traditional sports clubs
in Cheltenham. The North over many cold winters and through the folklore
of many fiery encounters has etched its name firmly into the history of
the local game. Although nowadays very professional in its approach to the
modern era the club has held onto many of the traditions of its amatuer
days. The annual "Players Night" for those who can remember it, is proof
in the very alcoholic pudding of those traditions. |

More seriously the North 1st XV are now competing for promotion in Western
Counties North under the leadership combination of head coach Steve Collins,
forwards coach Nick Townsend and 1stXV captain Robert Hughes. With their
enthusiasm and dedication it is only a matter of time before the very
vocal faithful at Stoke Orchard Road will enjoy many more cup victories
and promotions which have been a regular fixture in the history of the
club since its formation in 1906. The club run a 2ndXV aptly lead by Julian
Cresswell and Adge Wakefield, who play in the very competitive local merit
league and also the more social 3rdXV and Vets providing rugby for the
whole spectrum of players.

Road, which it is rumoured will be extended in the near future. It boasts
one the finest pitches in the county lovingly prepared by the trio of
volunteers Gary Wakefield, Jack Wood and the famous Froggy Jones. The
purpose built clubhouse along with its first class changing facilities
has a superbly stocked bar expertly manned by the lovely Kim Cresswell
and bar managers Adge Wakefield and Garthy Scourfield. Ofcourse a visit
to the North would not be complete without sampling Babs' after match
cuisine!!! As an amatuer club the work on the ground and around the clubhouse
is provided totally volutarily by these individuals (and many more), furthermore
it would be impossible to runs such a busy and succesfull club without
the the efforts of these people. Due to it excellent facilities and low
bar prices the clubhouse proves a superb venue for parties and functions
of all types for more info please contact Adge or Garthy on Tuedays and
Thursdays from 7pm or Saturdays from Midday.
